Kathleen Dagum

Kathleen Sareena Dagum, hailing from Sultan Kudarat, is an emerging artist in the practice of visual arts in the field of Sculpture.

Her sculptures usually have elements of introspection. They are mostly a reflection of her persona, the deepest thoughts of her identity. When she creates, she works primarily with cloth, wood, and metal. She is also inclined with other media, such as fiberglass and resin, that are available locally or are just present in her surroundings. She believes an artist can create beautiful things out of ugly things. This is the reason why she also frequently uses scrap and used materials in her works. She often employs neutral colors and emotional montages in a character with a face that is not prominent and the focus is on the drama of postures and gestures.
